MARCH 10 — Pakatan Rakyat has recently announced its political achievements in the four PR states for the past two years. But it is still hard to judge its performance based only on the data.

Most importantly, we still have to see how the people think and do.

PR and BN are still unable to get rid from the fight over the past two years. As a result, the political war of words engulfed us and the media.

MARCH 10 —  Now that the House of Representatives has ruled the 2008 bailout of Bank Century was unjustified, the nation next has to brace for the inevitable political fallout.

Wednesday’s vote has not laid to rest the political spectacle playing out over the past two months, courtesy of the House’s special inquiry committee probing the Rp 6.76 trillion (RM2.38 billion) case.

Instead, expect more fighting among the political elite, probably more intense than before.

Book ban decision No. 2 — Shanmuga K. (loyarburok.com)

MARCH 10 — The grounds of decision of Ariff Yusof J in upholding the ban on K. Arumugam’s Tamil book, “March 8” regarding the violent clashes in Kampung Medan on 8th March 2001.

On 25th January 2010, High Court Judge Tuan Mohamad Ariff bin Md Yusoff quashed the ban on ”Muslim Women and the Challenges of Islamic Extremism” published by Sisters in Islam (“the SIS case”).

On 12th February 2010, the same Judge (applying the principles in the SIS case) found that the ban on the Tamil book March 8 written by K. Arumugam was lawful and dismissed the application for a judicial review against the decision of Dato Fu Ah Kiow, the then Deputy Minister of Home Affairs banning this book.

10 MAC — Selama ini kita tidak berfikir untuk menyebar Islam kepada bukan Islam.

Selama ini tok-tok guru pondok kita hanya menyebar Islam sesama orang Islam.

Meskipun PAS menolak pendekatan perpaduan dengan Umno, bukan bermakna PAS mengenepikan tanggungjawab menyebar Islam.

Cadangan pilihan raya PBT tidak wajar dilayan — Utusan Malaysia

Mac 10 — Kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang dan Selangor nampaknya berusaha mendapatkan kerjasama Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR) untuk mengendalikan pilihan raya kerajaan tempatan di negeri masing-masing.

Untuk rekod, pilihan raya kerajaan tempatan pernah diadakan 43 tahun lalu tetapi dimansuhkan pada 1965.

Alasan pemimpin pakatan pembangkang hendak menghidupkan kembali pilihan raya kerajaan tempatan, adalah kerana mahu rakyat diberi kebebasan memilih mana-mana calon yang dapat memenuhi selera mereka.
